A great friend of mine who has a fun collection of classic action figures once gave me a Mega Man action figure as a gift. I've had it in my office for years, and my son recently spied it power-posing on its perch. I gave it to him, as we all know an action figure needs action. My boy was very pleased.
He brought it up to me at home today and asked about the hero, and I related the history of the character as much as I knew. I said "Did you know Mega Man has a theme song?", having not shared with my 5-year old the secret joy of the Mega Man series: killer 1980's midi-riffs. My son was skeptical. Action figures with "songs" don't sound so cool. "No he doesn't", my son objected. "Sure he does. And he rocks out while fighting the bad guys. You want to hear some of it?" I countered. "SURE!", all skepticism washing away from my boy when presented with a chance to experience something new. So I googled "mega man theme" and came up with this gem below (which I was deliberately looking for to show him). I am glad there are people out there with lots of time on their hands so I can relive my childhood in a way that won't sound corny to my kids. For all you classic gamers out there:

My son was satisfied that action figures could indeed have songs. So what other classics have inspired the masses?
